SPLOG -0196
Beauty comes in many different forms. As the saying goes, beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. As I see it, the queen of Borg is both discerning in matters of aesthetic beauty, and she would know that physical beauty is not all there is, but many people tend to forget that. All that glitters is not gold, and physical beauty may very well hide a repulsive personality and vile behaviour. As such, many people might think that physical beauty is all there is, but there are other, less obvious types of beauty. In comparison, intelligence is much more valuable, as intelligence is a part of a living being that cannot be enhanced through false means. However, intelligence also comes in many forms, and is often said to be the ability to learn and use whatever one has learnt.
Therefore, Paris Hilton, whose beauty in only skin deep, is an entirely unfit choice. Her beauty does not reach deep within, and she mars her physical beauty with coquettish behaviour and a snobby attitude. Although she is viewed by many as beautiful, with her glimmering gold locks, baby blue eyes and a slim, tan body, she often uses unhealthy, expensive means to achieve her wants. However, pretty and eye-catching she might be, but her intelligence leaves much to be desired. In fact, she once drove a car onto an expressway without any form of fuel! Even though she is rich, her lags in payments have caused unfortunate consequences such as her personal storage locker being auctioned off. Also, her frequent drink driving and promiscuous lifestyle, coupled with dirty dancing in clubs and getting caught with drugs in her handbag have all worked against her, demeaning public view of her intelligence even more.
The cephalopod, altough the most intelligent of the invertebrates, have not shown an ability to learn from their experiences. Their intelligence is muffled by the fact that they do not use it for anything but survival, and the fact that they have well-developed brains and senses do not amount to much when their incapability to learn incapitates them. In addition, although they have a useful ability to change colour, they themselves are incapable of viewing colours. As such, I can see that their ability to match the specific color of a background probably comes from cells such as iridophores and leucophores that reflect light from the environment, and not a sign of their intelligence.
David Beckham, however, possesses many of the desirable attributes of beauty and intelligence. He, as a world-famous footballer and captain of his national team, obviously has physical intelligence. His commanding salary of almost 5 million a month clearly shows that he is well-sought-after, and we can see that his knowledge of business has led him into lucrative endorsement deals where he is well paid. Also, he is famous throughout the world, and his name is as instantly recognizable, again showing us his aptitude for publicity. Furthermore, as a known heartthrob, he also has the dashing good looks that many would want and much more would fall for. In addition, he is an all-rounder, with his own line of scents.
Therefore, in the light of the important decision to be made, Paris Hilton is clearly an inappropriate choice for the fastidious borg queen. Also, a cephalopod, which is not only not very intelligent, but it also clearly loses out to the other much more glamourous choices in the looks department. However, with such a well-spread arsenal of skills, David Beckham is the most suitable choice for a gift to the esteemed queen.
